Rocket Dash: how to play

Objective

Travel as far as possible without colliding with a gate or the course boundaries. Your distance score increases as you progress. Stars add a second objective: collect them while keeping enough room to manoeuvre.

Controls

• Touchscreen: tap the play area to thrust upward.
• Desktop: press Space, Arrow Up, or W to act/thrust.
• Pause: use the pause button or Escape while playing.
• Sound: use the music-note button to toggle synthesized sound.
• Restart: select Fly Again on the game-over screen.

Tips for new players

1. Use short, deliberate taps rather than holding a control continuously.
2. Look at the open space between the upper and lower parts of each gate before adjusting your height.
3. Prioritize a safe path over collecting every star. A star is optional; a collision ends the run.
4. Use pause when you need a break, especially on desktop.
5. Practice a few runs to learn how quickly the rocket responds on your device.

Score and saved progress

The current run shows distance and stars collected. The game stores the best distance in browser local storage when storage is available. This saved score is local to that browser profile and device; it is not a cloud leaderboard. Clearing browser data or using private browsing can remove or prevent saving the record.

Troubleshooting

• If touch controls do not respond, reload the page and ensure the browser is up to date.
• If sound is unavailable, check device volume and browser sound permissions.
• If your score does not persist, check whether local storage is blocked or being cleared automatically.
• If the game appears incorrectly sized, rotate the device or reload after changing orientation.

Rocket Dash is an independent browser-game project. The personal-best score is for local play and should not be treated as an official competitive ranking.
